ICT as Informative Tools.

Information and Communication Technology (ICT) plays a crucial role in society as an informative tool. ICT as Informative Tools refers to the use of ICT to gather, access and disseminate information. Or it refers to the application that provides various information or content to the learners. For instance, there are interactive tools like interactive websites, Learning Management System (LMS), Augmantic reality (AR) and reference tools like encyclopedias and dictionaries.

One of the most significant impacts of ICT as informative tools is in the field of education. It brings greater benefit to learners as well as educators. Learners can access the information from educational websites, e-books, online tutorials that can offer vast range of knowledge that are beyond the walls of the classroom. Not only that, but it can also carter to diverse learning styles of students and supports independent and self- directed learning.

This image is the example of using Virtual Learning Environment that comes under LMS. Here, the notes or videos related to our module is uploaded where I have the leisure to study in my own pace and discuss if I have any doubts. 

 

Not only that, but I also get updated to the latest news.

 

Further, educators benefit from ICT as it helps them to share notes, give homework and announce if there is something new going on. Even apps like messenger, WhatsApp, TikTok, Instagram and Telegram are used to pass and receive information.  

We use telegram to get in contact with our lecturer and share information.

 

 

Beyond the classroom, ICT as an informative tool helps in staying informed about the current situation. Application like Facebook provides with current information. For instance, in the image below, with the help of Facebook page, I got the latest information about our country, that is the State Visit by Their Majesties the King and Queen of Thailand. 

 

 

 

 In the future, I plan to integrate ICT so that I can enhance the students learning by using various formats of Informative Tools/Technology. There are six formats-text, sound, image, graphics, video and animation which benefits students immensely when integrated in lessons. For instance, I will make a video like below to share information to my students so that they can learn from wherever and whenever they want. 

Therefore, ICT as an informative tool has made it easier for the information to be accessed and utilized. When used wisely, it becomes a powerful tool for personal and educational growth.
